09/06/2009 -- New Oregon Sunstone Jewelry Designs at Silver Heron Gallery
Northwest jewelry designer Marty Nottingham's latest collection of carved Oregon sunstone pendants is being showcased at Silver Heron Gallery in Depoe Bay. These Oregon sunstones from the Ponderosa Mine in Eastern Oregon come in a colorful spectrum of brilliant salmons, spruce greens and rare "watermelon," all carved to enhance the spectacular schiller within the stones. Schiller is copper inclusions within the stones, which reflect light, making the schillered stones more valuable. The gallery will also feature new pieces by Cal Bosch and Gary Richmond, designers who utilize this Oregon State gemstone. All pieces are one-of-a-kind, with prices starting at $250.
