07/23/2009 -- New Star In Depoe Bay

The Purple Starfish, a brand new gift gallery in the historic downtown Depoe Bay shopping district, opened its doors in May. Located right next door to local landmark Gracie's Sea Hag restaurant, The Purple Starfish is a 2500 square-foot gift gallery with a diverse collection of over 300 local, regional and national artists and design companies such as Mud Pie, Fire & Light, Crabtree & Evelyn, Pre de Provence and Made-in-Oregon jams and jellies. The store also features jewelry, ceramics, art glass, fine bath and body products, fashion accessories and an assortment of home décor items. When asked about her vision for the new store, owner Talley Woodmark, who also owns the Blue Heron, Silver Heron and WJW Galleries, said she wanted to "design a space which engages sight, sound, scent, taste and touch, and all with a backdrop of the spectacular Pacific Ocean." The selection at The Purple Starfish does offer something for everyone, with items ranging from $5 lip ganache to breathtaking, one-of-a-kind custom tapestries. Complimentary gift-wrapping is offered for your purchases, and be sure to ask about their custom-designed gift baskets for every occasion. The Purple Starfish is located at 48 SE Highway 101 in downtown Depoe Bay and is open seven days a week from 10am to 6pm, (541) 765-2336.
