10/11/2008 -- A Glass Act
A special showing of Fused Glass Sculptures by award winning glass artists, Robin Evans and Karen Ehart will be featured at the Silver Heron Gallery throughout the month of October. Robin Evans is known for her "Glowing Panels", composed of vivid colored fused glass that range dramatically in size and are complimented with an oriental influenced metal frame or stand. Her work has been featured on HGTV and is the recipient of the exalted Niche Award. Sculpted human form that takes on a life of its own in Karen Eharts's fused glass human torsos featuring both male and female bodies. She began working in glass during 1984 and was instrumental in the initial development of dichroic glass in the early 1990's. Both artists have been regularly featured in such important art magazines as Niche, American Style, GLASScraftsman, Artful Home, Phoenix Home & Garden, Coast Style, and Art Glass Quarterly.
