02/08/2007 -- Silver Heron Business Eye Opener & After Hours Event

Chamber members and local business owners were recently invited to attend either/both of the Business Eye Opener and the Business After Hours events at the Silver Heron Gallery on Thursday, February 8th. While a dozen folks attended the morning gathering, the evening event saw a turnout of more than 75 attendees! Hosted by Talley & Clay Woodmark (and John Woodmark at the evening gathering), the event was an opportunity for all to explore the new gallery, as well as to sample hors d'oeuvres from The Blow Hole Restaurant (Depoe Bay), desserts from La Maison (Newport) and wines from the Depoe Bay Winery (with Lori Rariden at the pouring counter). Evening attendees were even treated to a delightful impromptu piano concert by local playwright, Bill Luce.

The opening of this beautiful gallery has been a much awaited event for both the Woodmarks and the local citizens and business owners of Depoe Bay, and first impressions were that it was well worth the wait. Visitors were able to peruse the art at their leisure, poring over the colorful wall hangings, glassware, sculptures and jewelry. Currently, the gallery is open to the general public four days a week, Friday through Monday, and by appointment seven days a week. Beginning April 1st, the Silver Heron Gallery will be open five days a week, Thursday through Monday, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This beautiful venue is also available to rent for public and private events, gatherings, receptions and meetings. For further information, contact the Silver Heron at (541) 765-2886.
