Karen Merry began pursuing her love of art at the age of 50. Now in her 60s, she is an award-winning artist with a growing number of patrons for her extraordinarily brilliant watercolors and intricate pen & ink renderings. Her paintings very often reflect a whimsical nature. Additionally, Karen paints exquisite, highly detailed original one-of-a-kind pen & ink and watercolor framed miniatures. She has also painted many commission pieces of homes, gardens, collectibles and memorabilia.

Karen is passionate about creating art. Although she is inspired by meeting with and seeing the work of other artists, she prefers the solitude associated with working alone. While living in San Diego, Karen was a juried member of the La Jolla Art Association and the San Diego Museum of Art Artists' Guild. She was also a member of the San Diego Watercolor Society and the East County Art Association in El Cajon, California.

In early 2004, Karen relocated to Humboldt County, California. On the north coast, she is a member of the Ink People Center for the Arts, The Redwood Art Association, and Humboldt Arts Council.
